The time has come for my final step in my learning project. I found a person willing to let me put my knowledge into practice. My lovely wife volunteered to let me tattoo a heart on her foot to match the birth mark on our daughter’s foot. She chose to do a simple heart in purple in the same spot as Evie has a heart shaped birthmark.
Here is my wife before the tattoo starts:
She was happy and excited and in fact it was mostly her idea. The first step was to create and apply the stencils just like I did in this post. Here is the stencil applied.
Now it was time to start tattooing. I made a little time lapse video of the whole thing.
Once it was all done Jaclyn was still smiling and happy so I would say that this was a success.

I don’t think that tattooing is going to pay my way through university. In fact in the end I found the whole experience to be quite nerve wracking. I have a whole new appreciation for what my brother does every day. There is no room for mistakes in tattooing. Although the online sources were limited and had their flaws I would say that my personal learning project was a success. I will post an update and final summary blog that goes in to a little more detail. For now this may be my only tattoo I do. At least I can say I’ve tattooed someone. Who knows I might be brave and get back in there. Keep your eyes on the blog and I’ll keep you updated. Let me know what you think in the comments.
Kudos to your wife! Tha’ts awesome she let you tattoo her!
